ii) Some Contributions to Pedagogic Orientation :

Introduced:

•  Comparative Literature – poetry, drama, fiction – and Literary Theories in P.G. Teaching.

•  Application of various critical theories to specific texts.

•  Practical demonstration of phono-aesthetic approach to study literary texts, particularly poetry.

•  Poster display (with the help of the British Council) to familiarise the students with contemporary English writing all over the world.

Research project on Comparative Poetics was completed in March, 2005, as UGC-approved Major Research Project.

•  Nominated International Man of the Year 1997 by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge.

•  Received the C.V.Kapoor Education Foundation Distinguished Teacher Award in 2000.

•  Acted as UGC observer for NET at various centres in various states of India over the years.

•  Acted as UGC observer of NET in Sambalpur University , Orissa on 23 December 2001 .

•  Acted as a member of the Peer Team of NAAC in September, 2002.

•  Nominated for the prestigious title MAN OF THE YEAR 2002 by American Biographical Institute, Inc. North Carolina.

•  Awarded the ' International Man of the Year 2003' title by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge.

•  Felicitated by the Lions' Club, Burdwan as Distinguished Professor of English on 5 September 2003.
